Barry Walsh – Biography
Barry Walsh is the founder of Buffalo Barry’s Indian Art. He is a frequent author on Native American subjects. His book, “Hopi Katsina Anomalies: the Unusual, Rare and Unique,” was published by Rio Nuevo Press in 2024. His book, “The Great Tradition of Hopi Katsina Carvers, 1880 – Present” was published by Rio Nuevo Press in 2019.
He has written articles on Wilson Tawaquaptewa, Otto Pentewa, Jimmie Kewanwytewa, Jimmie Koots, and Mavasta Honyouti. Barry also wrote an article for Indian Trader in which he infiltrated a Navajo “kachina” factory and disclosed their assembly line methods.
In his other life, Barry is a PhD therapist who specializes in treating self-injury and suicide prevention. He has written three books on these subjects and has presented internationally.
